Bristol Drive-in Cinema, September 2020

This September, Bristol Airport will be transformed into a giant drive-in cinema by @TheDriveIn. At the moment, details are a little light, but the event is part of a nationwide Drive-In cinema experience. There’ll also be screenings in Brighton, Cardiff, Southampton, London, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Here’s what we know so far about the Bristol Drive-In cinema. We’ve also listed other open-air cinema screenings in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire that may be of interest.

Bristol Airport Drive-In Cinema – the details

According to Bristol24/7, the films will be screened in the Silver Zone Car Park. There are screenings at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm from 9 – 13 September. tickets are £35 plus booking fee per car.

Drive-In at Bristol Airport – the films

There are eight films on offer throughout the Drive-In festival. These are Grease, Back to the Future, A Star is Born, Jaws, Mean Girls, Joker, The Lion King and Toy Story. Open-air-cinema at Wiltshire College near Chippenham

If you’re planning on going to @TheDriveIn at Bristol Airport you may also be interested in these outdoor cinema screenings by The Alfresco Film Company. 1980s classic, Back to the Future, is showing at Wiltshire College near Chippenham on 18 September and on 19 September Dirty Dancing is screening. The college is set in an impressive 1600 acres of Wiltshire countryside and looks like a fantastic place to enjoy open-air-cinema this September. Outdoor cinema at Over Farm, near Gloucester

The Alfresco Film Company also have some open-air-cinema screenings in Gloucestershire. Over Farm is a working farm near to Gloucester and they’ll be selling a selection of burgers, hot dogs, veggie/vegan burgers, ice creams, popcorn and sweets to accompany your outdoor cinema experience. There’ll also be a pop-up bar selling alcoholic and soft drinks. Premium deck chair seating is available or bring your own camping or deck chairs. Open-air-cinema at Cowley Manor, Cheltenham

Julia Roberts and Richard Gere romantic comedy Pretty Woman will be showing on the top lawn of the impressive Cowley Manor on 10 September. You can even add a picnic to your outdoor cinema experience for an additional £15. This includes a gourmet burger, retro sweets and popcorn. The deluxe package at £60 includes the picnic for two, plus a bottle of wine. Tickets are available from The Alfresco Film Company.

Attending Bristol drive-in, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire open-air-cinema

At the time of writing, Bristol drive-in cinema and the open-air-cinema events in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire were still listed as going ahead. However, this may change and possibly at short notice so do check individual listings before making plans.
